Possible Side Effects of Sclerotherapy
You might get a little redness, swelling, or bruising where the tiny needle went in.
Sometimes the skin can feel a bit itchy or tender, but this usually goes away.
The treated veins might look a little darker for a short time before they fade.
Rare but More Serious Problems
A small blood clot can form in the treated vein (this is rare).
Very rarely, someone might have an allergic reaction to the medicine.
There’s a small chance of a tiny skin sore or a small air bubble that can make vision blurry for a moment — but this almost never happens.
